“This is me!” Series: Building Dreams

You might be thinking “why to add a photo from yourself as a kid on a professional website?” Well, that is where everything started. Do you remember who you were as a kid? Who did you dream to be?

By this age, I was starting pre-school; and fun fact: I sent my parents back home when they dropped me at school on my first day - “Bye Mom, don’t you have to go to work?” - She obviously went home crying.

As for what I wanted to be, I had everything figured out: “In the mornings I am a teacher, in the afternoons I will be a journalist and at night I will be a singer (No idea where that one came from)”.

I grew up as a privileged person. While my parents met poverty from a bit closer, I had all the opportunities to only study and focus on my personal development thanks to them!

My father has been the one that connected me to nature, taught me to swim, pushed me towards challenges. My mother since always tells me: “Be independent, my daughter!”. With her passion for movies, she taught me to dream with a different life, bigger than our small town.

In fact, one of my favorite movies (it does not mean it is good) since I was a little kid is “Twister”: A female scientist leading a group and chasing tornadoes. My own experience as a scientist is not that adventurous, but what fascinated me was the expertise and knowledge about nature.
